Warehouse Manager

Puff 'n Stuff Catering is looking for a diligent, energetic Warehouse Manager to join our warehouse team and work with us to "passionately perfect life's celebrations." The Warehouse Manager is responsible for providing hands on leadership to an operational warehouse while overseeing the laundry, dish room and loading/pulling teams. The Warehouse Manager will also be responsible for all products and goods within the warehouse, including durable goods, food stuffs, fragile products, and inventory control. The working environment is a shared work space inside a warehouse and some work will require exposure to the outdoors and extreme temperatures inside the warehouse. 

This is a Catering Operations Facility. Candidates must have experience in this field. 


RESPONSIBILITES

  • Plan, manage and contribute to the day-to-day operation of staff
  • Motivate, organize, and encourage teamwork within the workforce
  • Develop comprehensive training initiatives and objectives
  • Build a team of excellence via regular interviewing, hiring, and training
  • Monitor Team Members' performance and provide constructive feedback/direction
  • Communicate issues of importance with other departments
  • Oversee inventory control (equipment, consumables, and liquor) and order processing while ensuring quality and budget objectives are met
  • Respond to clients, both internal and external as necessary
  • Asses building/equipment repairs for what can be completed in house vs. outsourced
  • Collaborate with the sales and operations team to coordinate event pre-set and breakdown
  • Maintain a regular on-call status to address team and client concerns/emergencies
  • Responsible for the maintenance, record keeping and repairs of all vehicles
  • Keep stock control systems up to date and plan for future capacity requirements
  • Produce regular reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis as required ensuring optimum functional performance of all aspects of daily operations.
  • Ensure the health, safety, cleanliness, and security of the work environment
  • Provide support to event teams during load out process
  • Oversee and plan the cleaning and maintenance of machinery and equipment
  • Create a weekly operating plan/schedule that provides for the optimum use of time and personnel and equipment to meet the needs of the Warehouse Department
  • Maintain a high level of morale and effort among the Warehouse Team Members
  • Partner with the Caterease Manager to ensure that all warehouse related data is accurately inputted in the Caterease system
  • Forecast equipment requirements for immediate and seasonal needs
  • Partner and collaborate with remote locations to share equipment and establish consistent procedures (inventory of items sent/received)

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 years of Catering experience with at least 3 years of leadership experience
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in Warehouse Management
  • Knowledge of budgeting and capital processes, production scheduling, written and oral communication skills necessary to manage a diverse organization consisting of 20+ employees
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines relating to trucks, sprinters, and vans
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of food handling, food safety and cooking procedures for on- and off-site preparation
  • Able to read and understand production schedules, manage information systems which include financial performance, statistical data reports complied to evaluate performance and other written / printed documents upon which the Warehouse Department is dependent upon to successfully perform its mission
  • Must have a valid Florida Driver's license. (Class D preferred)
  • Must be able to continuously see. Must be able to frequently stand, walk, view computer monitors, give and receive oral communication, bend, squat, reach above shoulder level, and discern color
  • Must be able to occasionally sit, drive, type, and make fine discriminations in sound, crawl, and climb
  • Must be able to continuously lift/carry up to 10 lbs.; frequently lift/carry up to 50 lbs.; and occasionally lift/carry up to 70 lbs
  • Must be able to do repetitive simple grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to work in an environment which includes frequently exposure to varying weather conditions, moving machinery, and loud noises, occasional exposure to heat, cold, dust, dampness, height, fumes, confined spaces, and electrical & chemical issues
