Puff 'n Stuff Catering is looking for talented bread bakers and pastry cooks - or even one in the same - to join our onsite kitchen team preparing baked goods for events of all sizes and working with us to "passionately perfect life's celebrations". As a key member of our team, the pastry cook and or bread baker uses large commercial ovens, large mixers, scales, and various other necessary equipment to make cakes, cookies, breakfast breads, savory doughs, donuts, yeast breads, short breads and a variety of other items as requested. As catering goes, the workload changes often and very quickly, so staying organized and juggling priorities is a must to be successful.
Basics
- Create, prepare, and bake breads, yeasted and non-yeasted and component ingredients according to production schedule and recipe.
- Prepare, bake, and decorate various food items in substantial volume
- Ability to bake goods according to finishing requirements.
- Inspect the quality of the ingredients, measure, and scale them for specific recipes.
- Organize incoming supplies in the appropriate places.
- Store, organize, label, and rotate all products as necessary.
- Clean equipment and utensils and maintain the kitchen in clean and good order.
Qualifications
- 2+years experience in a working pastry department or bakery
- Comfortable working in a large and fast-paced kitchen
- Proven verbal, organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, work in a cooler and freezer, and regularly lift push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Facility operates primarily from 5am to 4 pm - based on scale and complexity of events - weekends and holiday prep are expected.
